Firstly, it’s way past time for someone to complain of the rampant misuse of the term ‘progressive’ by the liberal leftist spin machines. By continuing to declare themselves the ‘progressive’ party, they attempt to usurp every positive connotation the word suggests, and by so doing imply that opponents must be ‘anti-progressive’, or digressive. Thus they attempt to lay claim to everything positive, and paint all opposition with a broad negative brush. It is time for Americans firmly grounded in reality to object to liberals weak claim to the word. The changes championed by liberals today, and even some changes they have imposed on society more recently, have not resulted in progress. While some aspects of the ‘original’ democratic party could be considered to have advanced society, the politics and policies of today’s leftists no longer represent progress or the advance of society as a whole. The promotion of women’s and minority rights in voting, education and employment, fighting slavery, and reasonable attempts to help government develop a conscience with regard to poverty are truly progressive achievements of former ‘progressives’ like Zell Miller’s and his ilk. Unfortunately what is today called ‘progressive’ is not necessarily so, and in fact often represents moral regression which can only weaken both the democracy, family values, and the economy. Whereas real progress in the advance of society as a whole always involve change, …all change is not necessarily progress.
The Democratic Party seems only equipped to protect its advantage on ‘progressive’ judges, abortion rights, privacy rights of terrorists, and the entitlements and delicate sensibilities of certain special interest groups, but otherwise seem wholly ill-equipped to protect us from anything more dangerous than vague unintended insults from the ‘insensitive’ Republican Party. Possibly the greatest Democratic president of all time, JF Kennedy, understood well the perils facing the US by communist totalitarianism and was willing to risk all to stand up to it, but sadly there are no Democrats of his caliber in our day willing to even identify, let alone stand up to Islamic fascism. Republicans seem to have a much better grip on reality, though Bush has yet to clearly identify core Islam as the evil theology we are at war with. Our leaders strut their tough-guy promises of "no surrender" while they duck even naming the real enemy. We shadow-box "terror" while our borders remain wide open and neighborhood Imams expound on the virtues of Jihad against non-believers. Both parties remain in denial, but liberals have taken a big step beyond that to join Islamists and their apologists in frustrating the forces of truth and enlightenment.

Smug in their self-righteousness and sanctimonious high-ground, liberals continue to mock and disparage all religions, except the one which killed 3000 Sept 11 and aspires to kill even more tomorrow. The Democratic Party has become a religion unto itself, its devout followers responding to everything with knee jerk emotion. Independent thought is punished; all must conform to party doctrine. Everything must be compared against a bizarre prism of a pseudo-morality that has supplanted rational thought and self-evident truths. Millions of timid sheep nervously look first to Ted Kennedy and Howard Dean before parroting the official line. The party once affiliated with American independence, courage, and strength has become a club of timidity and conformity. The Left talk big about idealism and morality, claiming to be the party of compassion, yet in the same breath show themselves mean-spirited, cynical, and without faith in any principal based on free-agency or democracy. Hateful name calling has become all the rage, with everyone outside the circle labeled Bigoted, Racist, Islamophobic, Homophobic, Heteronormative, Neo-Con, Neanderthal, Right-wing religious nut, Jesus freak, Environmental rapist, etc etc… The party of tolerance and inclusion has become the least tolerant.

I would not say it are any liberal matter, but that all reports through media, current social paradigm and resulting lunacy and difficult obstacles for common people reveal the present administration as one of no respect for our citizens.

Not all indigent, poor or economically "lower-class" caucasions are the "white trash" which various media device have infered either. Numerous lives were disrupted, resulting into profound injury, loss, dislocation from friends and family, and more, whereas variant citizen again established some lack of common courtesy, moreso assaulted others. To be deprived of prior luxuries, of wealth and possession, does not make one trash, but instead an evident victim.
